Los Angeles is the biggest city in California and second largest in United States of America. It is often abbreviated as L.A. and also nicknamed as the City of Angels. A Spanish governor named as Felipe de Neve found Los Angeles in 1781. It joined Mexico in 1821 after its independence from Spain. When the Mexican-American War ended Los Angeles and California were bought as a part of Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and thus became part of the United States of America.
